17/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - As expected, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is holding a conference in Brussels on 20 and 21 March on reforming the labour market and macro-economic policies under the Lisbon agenda (see EUROPE 9151, p.8). The conference will be attended by Joaquim Almunia, Otmar Issing (ECB), Jean-Marie Mingasson (UNICE), Rainer Hoffmann (ETUC), Nikolaus van der Pas (Director General of DG Employment and Social Affairs at the European Commission) and one of his predecessors, Allan Larsson, Waltraud Scheltkle of the London School of Economics and various trade union experts from Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and other countries.
