Commission requests further investigations on three unusual cases of TSE in sheep

Brussels, 10/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 9 March, the European Commission requested further investigation into the unusual cases of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) in two French sheep and one from Cyprus, to ensure that the animals, which had been thought to be suffering from scrapie, had not, in fact, contracted bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).
