02/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Free University of Brussels (ULB) is organising a conference on 16-17 March on “Resisting Europe - Euroscepticism and National Civic Cultures” in an attempt to analyse Euroscepticism brought to attention through the French and Dutch referendums on the European Constitution and which “Far from being an emerging transnational movement, Euroscepticism remains a national phenomenon deeply rooted in different traditions”. Participants will in different sessions examine the phenomenon in several founding countries (apart from Luxembourg) as well as in Greece, United Kingdom, the Nordic countries and in Central and Eastern Europe.
