The Russian President Vladimir Putin has merged all Russia's aircraft manufacturers (both military and civil aviation) into one state-run body to consolidate the ailing industry in the face of an onslaught by foreign aviation giants. The Russian state will hold a 75% stake in the new company, to be called UAC - UNITED AVIATION CORPORATION. UAC will have an annual turnover of between USD 7 and 8 bn.
