Brussels, 22/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - During the JHA Council of 21 February, Commissioner Franco Frattini presented ministers with an initial list of safe countries to which illegal immigrants would be sent back if found on European soil. Eleven countries are on this list: Benin; Botswana, Cap Vert, Ghana, Senegal, Mali, Isle of Mauritius, Chile, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Tanzania. Apart from Tanzania, it is exactly the same list proposed in 2004 under the Dutch presidency (EUROPE 8824)....
