22/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC) has elected Nicolas Merindol, the representative of the Groupe européen des caisses d'épargne (ESBG), as its President. Founded in 2004, EBIC is made up of the seven main EU banking representations. It will soon be publishing common position papers on issues like the consumer credit directive and mortgages.
