20/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - After voting in the Plenary session in Strasbourg on 18 January, Parliament has published the names of the 22 members and the remit of the committee of enquiry investigating the bankruptcy of the British insurance company, Equitable Life Society (see EUROPE 9112). The EPP-ED group provides 8 members: Sir Robert Atkins (UK), Bert Doorn (Netherlands), Giuseppe Gargani (Italy), Jean-Paul Gauzes (France), Cristina Gutierrez-Cortines (Spain), Mairead McGuinness (Ireland), Marie Panayotopoulos (Greece) and Rainer Wieland (Germany). The Socialist group has 6 members: Michael Cashman (UK), Proinsias De Rossa (Ireland), Harald Ettl (Austria), Manuel Medina Ortega (Spain), Peter Skinner (UK) and Anne Van Lancker (Belgium). The ALDE group has 3 - Sharon Margaret Bowles (UK), Wolf Klinz (Germany) et Diana Wallis (UK). The Greens/EFA have nominated Heide Rühle (Germany), the GUE/NGL group Willy Meyer Pleite (Spain), the IND/DEM group Godfrey Bloom (UK), the UEN group Sean O Neachtain (Ireland) et the non-attached Ashley Mote (UK).
