- Poland: According to estimates released by the Polish foreign investment information agency, Poland attracted more than USD 8 bn in direct foreign investment (fdi) in 2005, up from USD 7.86 bn in 2004. The biggest investors were LG, PHILIPS, IBM, MAN and HEWLETT-PACKARD. - Asia: According to figures released by the Chinese trade ministry, fdi in China fell 0.5% between 2004 and 2005 to USD 60.33 bn, but China remains at the top of the league of global recipients of fdi (it has been there since 2002). The main investor was Hong Kong (nearly USD 18 bn, or 29.75% of fdi). During 2005, US fdi in China fell 22.32% while EU fdi in China rose 22.5% over the same period.
