Damascus, 16/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Union is funding a programme to train child protection officers in Syria, explains a press release published by the European Commission's delegation in Damascus, the Syrian capital. This is the first project of its ilk launched under the European initiative for democracy and human rights. It will last three years, with a budget of EUR 80,000 to train people responsible for child protection, like social workers and orphanage managers.
