29/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Verheugen confirmed on Tuesday at the Competitiveness Council that the Commission has up to now received the national reform programmes for growth and employment, under the Lisbon strategy, from all the Member States apart from Poland and Germany whose new governments have just entered into their functions. The Commission has already begun the evaluation of the programmes and will present a report in January to be communicated to the European Council in March. “Cooperation between the governments and the Commission is excellent and the new partnership approach for growth and employment strengthens the full attachment of the Member States”, welcomed Mr Verheugen before the Council.
