Strasbourg, 21/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Adopting an own initiative report on Thursday by Girts Valdis Kristovskis (UEN, Latvia) on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the European Parliament opposed the development of the new generation nuclear weapons, known as mini nukes and bunker busting bombs, welcoming reports that both Senate and Congress in the United States are prepared to halt funding for mini nuke research.
