21/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Organisation for Cooperation and Development in Europe's global taxation forum in Melbourne, Australia, on 15/16 November looked at progress in increasing transparency and the exchange of information about tax issues. High ranking officials from 55 countries (OCDE members and non-members) discussed criteria for establishing a global level playing field and the legislative and administrative systems of more than 80 countries. Conclusions will be published next year. The debate revealed that much progress has already been made in transparency and exchange of information but more work remains to be done to tackle financial crime.
