Polish MEPs propose that 31 August, anniversary of Solidarnosc, become "European Day of Solidarity and Freedom"

Brussels, 01/09/2005 (Agence Europe) -In Brussels on Tuesday evening, during celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Solidarnosc, the first independent syndicate in Eastern Europe, the Polish members of the European Parliament proposed that 31 August become the "European Day of Solidarity and Freedom".
