Immediate risk of contamination of European poultry low, according to French experts and Commission

Brussels, 24/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - Two days ahead of the meeting of European veterinary experts , which has been convened for 25 August to assess the risk posed by outbreaks of bird flu in Russia on poultry stocks of the countries in the EU, experts from France and the European Commission refused on Tuesday to give in to alarmism (EUROPE 9010).

Given this worrying situation, the French Ministries for Agriculture and for Health brought the matter to the French food safety agency (AFSSA)...
