Mr Florenz calls for Solidarity fund to contribute to the flood-hit Alps

Brussels, 24/08/2005 (Agence Europe) -The German Christian Democrat Karl-Heinz Florenz, president of the committee on the environment of the European Parliament, has issued a press release in which he calls for a contribution to be made as quickly as possible by the Solidarity fund of the EU to help the regions of the Alps which have been hit by floods in the last few days (Austria and Switzerland in particular, but also Bavaria and France).
