Brussels, 23/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is holding its 10th Summer School from 28 August to 3 September in Mostar (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The theme will be “Regions as motors for prosperous and inclusive societies”, that is, the role of regions in promoting sustainable economic development and cultural diversity through regional democracy.
In parallel, the AER is holding its 4th Youth Summer School. Around 50 participants aged 18 to 24 will discuss the theme “Youth and citizenship in a multicultural Europe”. Eight participants will be elected to join the “Youth Team” created by the AER in response to the wishes of students who participated in previous sessions to be heard by politicians.
On 3 September the participants at the two Summer Schools will meet together to celebrate the cultural diversity of the regions (Info: http://www.a-e-r.org or http://www.mostar2005.org ).
