European unions want more protection for workers from radiation from sun - construction industry fears “sun light directive”

Brussels, 11/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - Decided on by the Council on 18 April 2005, the common position for adopting the fourth and final package on “exposure to natural radiation from the sun”, aims to protect workers from optical radiation (EUROPE 8843) but has incited unanimous opposition from the industry, from unions as well employers. The opposition wants it to be amended during its second reading by the European Parliament, planned for September, and which will follow examination...
