Health ministers support granting additional six months of protection for paediatric indications - Parliament gets to speak

Brussels, 07/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - During their meeting on Friday 3 June in Luxembourg, EU health ministers obtained qualified majority on the Commission's proposal for granting an additional six months of the certificate for paediatric medicines subject to clinical trials. This mechanism is at the centre of a draft regulation currently being examined at the Council and Parliament (EUROPE 8959) and is the subject of intense lobbying at the two institutions.
