Inquiry into aid to Netherlands malt sector

Brussels, 03/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has opened inquiry procedure relating to a measure by the Dutch Government in favour of the malt sector. The measure in question is an investment subsidy of over EUR 7.4 million for the construction of a malt production plant in Eemshaven, in the province of Groningen. Investment must ensure integration of the whole of the storage and processing stages of brewer's barley and the production and marketing of malt. The Commission nonetheless...
