EU criticises elections of 31 March as not being free or democratic

Brussels, 06/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - A declaration by the Luxembourg presidency on behalf of the European Union takes note of the general elections in Zimbabwe on 31 March and points out that the EU was not invited to observe the elections. The declaration continues:

“The EU has clearly taken not of Zimbabwe's commitment to comply with the principles and SADC guidelines on elections and with the SADC commitment in this context. There had been some improvements in the elections compares...
