Brussels, 31/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European People's Party (EPP-ED) headed by Hans-Gert Pöttering will hold the fourth Summit of the Presidents of parliamentary groups in the PPE-DE family on Monday 4 April at the European Parliament. This Summit will bring together the members of the Presidency and the heads of national delegations in the PPE-DE group, as well as the Presidents of EPP-ED groups in the national parliaments of the European Union. Under the presidency of Mr Pöttering, Lorenzo Cesa (Vice-President of the PPE-DE group responsible for relations with parliaments) and Michel Wolter (President of the PCS group in the Luxembourg parliament), participants will discuss the financial perspective 2007-2013 (with a notable intervention from the Vice-President of the European Commission Jacques Barrot) and the priorities of the PPE-DE political family on the Lisbon Strategy, in particular with the Luxembourg minister and President of the Employment Council of the EU François Biltgen and the Commissioner for Culture, Training and Multilingualism Jan Figel. The participants will also discuss the challenges and prospects for the European Constitution with the former Belgian Prime Minister and Vice-President of the European Convention Jean-Luc Dehaene.
