Kuwaiti operator MTC-MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY (net profit of 408 million dollars in 2004) has acquired 85% of the Dutch company CELTEL INTERNATIONAL, which operated in 13 African countries, for 2.84 billion dollars. The contract also stipulates the purchase over the next two years of the remaining 15% of capital for 520 million dollars.
