Court of Auditor's critical report on EU forestry measures

Brussels, 22/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 15 March, the European Court of Auditors presented a highly critical special report on forestry measures across the European Union within the framework of rural development policy. According to the Court, various aspects of EU support for forestry must be reviewed. It recommends in particular that the measure in favour of afforestation should be better targeted and that its cost for the Community budget should be reduced.
