Galileo joint venture prolongs suspense over choice of future franchise of European satellite radio-navigation system

Brussels, 01/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Galileo joint venture has not yet chosen the future franchisee for the European satellite radio-navigation system, Galileo. After having analysed the bids put forward by the two consortia, Eurely (which includes Alcatel, Finmeccanica, Aena and Hispasat) and iNavSat (which includes EADS Space, Thales and Inmarsat), the joint venture decided to put the two candidates in competition and simultaneously begin negotiations for the franchise contract....
