Hartmut Nassauer says Luxembourg Presidency will have to consider cost of Turkey joining the EU in the Financial Perspectives negotiations

Brussels, 05/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a press release about the Luxembourg Presidency, CDU MEP Hartmut Nassauer says that if Jean-Claude Juncker wants to achieve his ambitious objective of making a breakthrough in the negotiations over the Financial Perspectives 2007-2013, he will have to explain in euros and cents how Turkey joining the EU can be funded (see yesterday's Europe, p.7_. Turkish prime minister Erdogan is energetically insisting on accession in 2009 and the negotiations...
