In 2004, 16% of patents were filed electronically

Brussels, 30/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - During it annual conference, the European Patents Office (EPO) announced that 16% of the 180 000 patents filed in 2004 were done so electronically. The electronic plate-form epoline® facilitates and speeds up the process of registering patents. In this way it contributes to the innovation of the Lisbon process. In 2004, new Member States (Poland and Iceland) signed the European Convention on patents.
