Brussels, 26/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Committee of Permanent Representatives agreed on a draft timetable of Presidencies on the lines of the agreement set out in the Constitutional Treaty. The timetable will now have to be formalised by the European Council. It involves three countries and three six month periods in an overall period of eighteen months. Most eighteen month periods have one 'big' Member State, one medium-sized Member State and one new Member State. The timetable takes account of Bulgaria and Romania joining the EU in the future: January 2007 to end of June 2008: Germany, Portugal and Slovenia; - July 2008 until the end of 2009: France, the Czech Republic and Sweden; - January 2010 to the end of June 2011: Spain, Belgium and Hungary; from July 2011 until the end of 2012: Poland, Denmark and Cyprus; - from January 2013 until the end of June 2014: Ireland, Lithuania and Greece; - from July 2014 until the end of 2015: Italy, Latvia and Luxembourg; - from January 2016 until the end of June 2017: the Netherlands, Slovakia and Malta; - from July 2017 until the end of 2018: the UK, Estonia and Bulgaria; - January 2019 until the end of June 2020: Austria, Romania and Finland.
