Brussels, 12/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Union on Thursday expressed its condolences to the family of Yasser Arafat (who died during the night of Wednesday to Thursday) and to the Palestinian people, using the occasion to reiterate its will and determination to strive for a peace in the Middle East which is based on the creation of a Palestinian state which would coexist with the state of Israel in peace, security and mutual respect.
