Council requests seven initial action plans for 20 October - Kiev called on to ensure presidential elections are free and transparent

Brussels, 13/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Monday the External Relations Council listened to Commissioner Günter Verheugen's report on preparations towards action with an first group of seven countries benefiting from the new European neighbourhood policy (ENP): Ukraine, Moldova, Jordan, Morroco, Palestinian Authority, Tunisia, Israel. The Council called on the Commission to provide it with action plans to approve before 20 October.
