07/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - At a meeting on 24 September in Brussels, the Executive Board of the International Federation of Managerial Staff and Executives in Transport (FITC) gave its support to the future European constitution. The FITC said that, "Though this text does not present an important progress in social aspects with regard to the treaty of Nice, one can nevertheless be delighted at its adoption and greet some of its dispositions". The union federation was very pleased with social dialogue being highlighted in the future constitution and that the Charter of fundamental Rights included "freedom to join a union or the right of training and a consultation of the employees within the companies" , as well as the right of workers to consultation in companies. The FITC is calling on it members to support the constitution. The FITC is a member of the "Confédération Européenne des Cadres". Info: Alain Lude in Paris. E-mail: lude@fict-eu.org
