06/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - As the hearings of the Commissioners-designate unfold, and pending the final mark from the political groups on each of them, MEPS consider the performances of the future members of the Barroso team according to their political hues. Thus, Olli Rehn, Commissioner-designate for Enlargement, causes enthusiasm among Liberals, positive but mitigated appreciation among Socialists, and disenchantment from CSU member Bernd Posselt. The Bavarian representative, who believes he noted a "visible lack of commitment" in the future Commissioner when it comes to accession by a "Middle-European country like Croatia" says in a press release that Mr Rehn will be responsible for South East Europe but does not understand much about it and the file would be in the "best hands if it were with Benita Ferrero-Waldner, expert in South East Europe" (Ed.: and who will be responsible for EU Neighbour Policy in the Barroso Commission)
