Brussels, 15/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has suggested that the Council give authorisation to France to apply varying levels of fuel tax (on diesel and lead-free petrol) in different regions. As part of a decentralisation programme, France is planning to give regional councils the power to decide to cut TIPP rates (taxe interieure sur les produits petroliers).
