Greece fingered EU Veterinary Office over elimination of animal bi-products

Brussels, 30/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a report of the results of an inspection last March, the European Veterinary Office (PVS) criticised Greece over failure to respect Community legislation on destruction of animal bi-products. Experts found that considerable quantities of materials from the slaughterhouses were being disposed unprocessed at municipal landfills and fallen stock regularly buried on site.
