Canadian brewers MOLSON (turn-over 1.2 bn in Canadian dollars in the first half of 2004) and the US brewers ADOLPH COORS (turnover of USD 2.1 bn in first half of 2004) announced their merger by exchange of shares. The new entity will be called MOLSON COORS BREWING and will become the fifth largest brewer in the world. It will produce an annual volume of 60 million hectolitres of beer for a turnover of USD 6 bn.
