Committe of the regions in favour of a new legal instrument to promote cross-border cooperation.

Brussels, 26/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a communication released last week, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) welcomed the proposed regulation adopted on 14 July on the creation of a "European cross-border cooperation group". The result of debates on the theme of cross-border cooperation which have been taking place in the CoR for the last two years, the new legal instrument is a response to the legal and institutional difficulties encountered on the ground.
