EU and Philip Morris official signature to agreement on fighting contraband cigarettes

Brussels, 08/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Michalele Schreyer will be announcing on Friday in Brussels the official signing of a long term co-operation agreement between the Community and Philip Morris International, which is aimed at stepping up the fight against contraband cigarettes. An interim agreement was already signed between the parties three months ago (EUROPE 6 April 2004) but two of the ten Member States involved in the Community action, Spain and Italy, took much longer...
