Brussels, 28/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - French judge Sylvie Pantz will be at the head of the State of Law mission that the European Union will be sending to Georgia in mid-July for twelve months in order to support the general process for reforming the Georgian legal system (EUROPE 16 June). The EU Committee for Security Policy (Cops) will formally appoint Ms Pantz on Wednesday. Pantz has been a member of the High Magistrates Council in Sarajevo, co-ordinator for investigation teams at the Prosecutor's Office at the International Criminal Court for the Former Yugoslavia (ICCFY) and director of the legal affairs department at UNMIK, the UN mission in Kosovo. On Monday the Environment Council adopted without debate the common action defining the modalities for the future mission.
