Environment Council takes stance on Monday on approval of NK603 maize for animal feed

Brussels, 25/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - EU Environment Ministers are to take a stance on Monday on the proposal aimed at approving imports of genetically modified corn, Monsanto NK 603 (resistant to glyphosate herbicide), for the purposes of processing and use in animal feed. Given the differences expressed over this dossier, Member States are not expected to be able to reach a qualified majority either for or against approval.
