Brussels, 17/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Belgian Prime Minister, Guy Verhofstadt, seemed no longer to believe in his own chances of taking over for Romano Prodi, at the Liberals' Summit in Brussels on Thursday. He left the meeting by a back door, leaving his Foreign Minister, Louis Michel, to defend his candidacy before the press. The Dutch Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Atso Nickolaï, came to the rescue, confirming Dutch support for Guy Verhofstadt. The Commission President...
