10/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Transport Federation (ETF) is to hold a symbolic event in Luxembourg on Friday, outside the building where the Council of Transport Ministers of the EU is being held. In a press release, the ETF, which represents over 200,000 people working in air transport, announced that "delegations of civil aviation cabin crew from all over Europe will present the Irish Presidency with thousands of petitions", urging it to support the adoption of a regulation ensuring staff the "right to the recognition of their professional skills". The press release points out that countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands "are opposed to this professional recognition".
