ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

New Zealand company AKZO NOBEL has sold, for a EUR 625 million, its refinery catalyst unit (turn-over EUR 350 million in 2003 with workforce of 825 throughout the world) to US group ALBERMARLE (specialised chemicals). This transaction is expected to be finalised in the second half of the year.
