18/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Enrique Baron, president of the Socialist group at the European Parliament, declared in a press statement that he was worried about the support given by the Austrian Socialist Party (SPÖ) to a government agreement with the FPÖ of Jörg Haider in Carinthia. Baron insisted that Haider's ideology "does not appear compatible with our political vision". Baron also indicated that the Socialist group would begin next week with a debate on "this delicate issue".
