Brussels, 18/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Adopting the own initiative report of Greek Socialist Aleandros Baltas on Wednesday, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament said that Croatia had a "European vocation" for EU membership but listed a number of conditions it would have to meet beforehand, notably improved cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The plenary vote will close at the end of March in Strasbourg.
