Yes to accession if criteria are met

Brussels, 03/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Speaking to the press on Wednesday before a seminar of the Liberal Group (ELDR) opened at the European Parliament on the external relations of the future enlarged Union, the leader, Graham Watson, restated that the Liberals are in favour of Turkey's EU membership, on condition that it complies with all accession criteria. On the other hand, it would be irresponsible to give Turkey a date for accession, "as the timetable will fully depend on Turkey...
