Brussels, 03/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Proponents of British sovereignty hope to gain seats in the European Parliament in June's elections. In 1999, UKIP (UK Independence Party) gained three seats. Here, in the order of the lists, are the first candidates in the various regional constituencies in the United Kingdom.
East of England: - the outgoing Jeffrey Titford (70), retired company director; -Tom Wise, parliamentary assistant to the former.
East Midlands: - Derek Clark, retired teacher.
West Midlands: -Mike Nattrass, former member of the New Britain Party.
South East: -the outgoing Nigel Farage (40), commodities broker; Ashley Mote, author of the book "Vigilance", a campaigner for British sovereignty.
South West: -the outgoing Graham Booth (64); -former Conservative MP Roger Knapman (60).
London: -Gerard Batten.
Yorkshire and the Humber: -Godfrey Bloom.
North West: -John Whittaker, economist.
North East: -John Pearson.
