Irish Presidency priorities to include 'new responses to asylum' and combating organised crime and illegal immigration

Brussels, 29/12/2003 (Agence Europe) In the chapter of its programme entitled 'A Safer Union: Strengthening the Area of Freedom, Justice and Security', the Irish Presidency comments that 'developing the Union as an area of freedom, security and justice is a core objective of the EU, which the European Council has placed high on its political agenda.
