16/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - Monday, at the opening of the European Parliament plenary session in Strasbourg, German Social Democrat, Martin Shulz congratulated Pat Cox on being awarded the prestigious Charlemagne prize. He stressed that the prize would be awarded to him in Aix-la-Chappelle next May before the European elections. The president of the European Parliament said that he interpreted this as a "fabulous homage to the work of the European Parliament".
