Conclusion of new Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement

Brussels, 20/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last week the EU and the Andean Community (CAN: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela) successfully concluded the second and final round of negotiations for a new Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (EUROPE 14 October p 11). This agreement replaces the currently existing agreement in force since 1993. It focuses on regional development, conflict prevention, human rights and democracy, fight against terrorism, organised crime, drug trafficking and immigration.
