Brussels, 11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - According to AFP, during a meeting a the home of Ahmad Koreia, the President of the Palestinian parliament in charge of forming the future government of the country, the Special EU Representative for the Middle East, Marc Otte from Belgium, encouraged the next Palestinian government to continue the wok begun by the former Palestinian Prime Minister who resigned, Mahmoud Abbas. Mr Otte alluded to the "security reforms" begun by Mr Abbas, as well as his commitment to implementing the Quartet's road for the Middle East. AFP also disclosed that the EU Representative reasserted the opposition of the EU to threats to expel the President of the Palestinian Authority made by the Israelis.
