Ecofin ministers expected to specify their positions for IGC during informal Council in Stresa (autonomy of Eurogroup, excessive deficit, budgetary procedures)

Brussels, 11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Economy and Finance Ministers will seek to define a common approach on the draft constitutional treaty during their informal meeting in Stresa on Friday and Saturday. Pending the stances of each Member State for the Intergovernmental Conference that is to open on 4 October in Rome, five tendencies were already visible at the meetings of the economic and finance committee at the Council.
